Fatherless children suffer
Because they don’t know how
Father never taught them
Because he didn’t know how
How to love… how to be loved… how to be
And so his babies, they grow into childish adults
Building walls around their broken hearts
To lock everyone out
And so his babies, they grow into childish adults
Building walls around their broken hearts
To lock everyone out
An inherited loneliness
A perpetual fear of closeness
A desperate craving for love
For what they never knew
A perpetual fear of closeness
A desperate craving for love
For what they never knew
Where is the hope in this?
Perhaps it’s in the breaking of silence
In choosing to unlearn and re-learn
How to love… how to be loved… how to be
Fatherless children suffer
Father never taught them
Because his father
